Our Story

Being raised by Mexican descent parents. You automatically inherit that Hispanic Mexican Culture in your veins, and the love for Latino food is second to none. As an only child, you learn at an early age how to take care of yourself and one of the earliest things I learned besides chores was to cook. I remember summer vacations being so long, parents were out working, and I was stuck at home wondering what to eat. My love for cooking started at 7 years old. I remember the first time I made eggs. I grabbed the hot pan and placed it on a cloth chair. As I go grab a plate I quickly turn around and tons of smoke is coming out and a giant hole was burned into the chair as I lifted the pan. Long story short, that was probably the last time my parents left me unattended with my uncle that was supposed to be watching over me. Over the years I developed the love of tacos. This journey led me to travel and taste tacos all over California and Mexico. "PAPA CHUY TACOS" is being founded with a high expectation of providing each customer with a quality taco that brings out the flavors of Mexico after every bite. Everything cooked and served is made using only the freshest ingredients. Just about everything is made from scratch. Our veggies and guacamole are prepared fresh daily, our meats are trimmed by hand, salsas are house made and our rice and beans are made straight from grandmas' recipe. To make sure everything is perfect, our corn tortillas are handmade on site. We invite you to give us a try at your next event. We cater to any location in San Diego and Riverside County.
